Ok I confess, I do believe it works if you are submitting your articles to quality sites... isn't that the trick?

I've had clients that want their articles submitted to every Yahoo group they can source out and join. Is is not more important to seek out quality submission sites as opposed to quantity. This premise holds true when you're speaking of back linking in general.

Or am I wrong? Can you really benefit from submitting to Yahoo & other groups.

The more the merrier, I say. When it comes to article PR, I don't really think there's any such thing as a bad link. There are great links, good links and almost-worthless links, but you'll never lose ranking because of a link (or group of links).

Posting to groups such as Yahoo, google etc will certainly improve your link popularity as long as you post it in the right group. Most of the members are bloggers or website owners and if you have a good article then chances are that it will get published on blogs and websites, not to mention the instant traffic from the sites.
