Last week I finished producing a brochure for a really nice client. It was a last minute job which I was quite excited about it becuase it really allowed for creativity in the copy and design and included some truly great photographs.
The client offered 'suggestions' for the header and I took them into consideration, tweaking it a bit so it felt just right.
Just before it went to print, he decided to change the copy, including the header back to what he had (which to me makes no sense at all) and, to make a long story endless, I had to implement his editing and advise the designer of colour changes etc.
The bottom line is, while the end result is okay, I *hate* the copy and am not mad on the changed colours. I can't help but feel this brochure, I was sure would be a feature in my folio, has now gone to the sh*thouse. I just can't use it and it annoys me everytime I look at it, although the client is *thrilled*.
I know him being thrilled is the most important part - and peers I spoke to last week - during my lament - said just 'take the money and run' but I am somewhat disappointed.
How do the rest of you handle this sort of situation?
