Post subject: | Please critique my 'Contact' page |
www.imaginewrite.com/contact.htm I would appreciate feedback on this particular page. I launched my web site in May of this year, and since putting my phone number online, I have received an unreal amount of solicitors and spamming. I have since removed my phone number. I am aware that the more ways a client has to get a hold of you, the better. But as my office if virtual only, do I really need my phone number on my web site? I have found that 95% of the people that contact and hire me, all contact is done via the Internet and email. People have appreciated the fact I am virtual, as it saves us both time and money. What do you think? Am I setting myself up for failure by not having a phone number posted? |

Post subject: | divine write = incredible information |
Glen, I just read this on your web site about contact information: "Always! This includes an email address, phone numbers, fax numbers, and address. Without these details, you’ll look like a fly-by-night operation." (http://www.divinewrite.com/trust.htm) Thanks for that information. It answered my own question! :-) Okay, note to self: read Glenn's web site first. Then post. LOL! Thanks again! Leanne |

No problems! I struggled with a similar issue for a while. A colleague of mine advised me not to include my postal address (he's a bit paranoid). For a while I heeded his advice, partly 'cos my office is in the 'burbs - not a real chic location. But then I decided I was having to tell too many people what my address was, so I may as well save myself the time and add it to the Contact page. And my colleague would be very displeased to know I've never had a single problem with stalkers! |

I was worrying about that too mainly because of some unusual requests I've had when selling stuff on Ebay, which made me apprehensive. However, I've now added the details to the copy for my site. Thanks. |

Post subject: | Email address on contact page? |
The only thing I'd add there, guys, is to use a form (if you can) for people to contact you. Putting a real email address there will have the spam bots all over it and delivering you up to Spam Hell in short order! I just noticed you use your real address on your site, Glenn. Have you had spam problems, or have you found a way around it? Paul |

@imagewriter, that link is dead by the way - you might want to redirect it to your new contact page... |
